Antigua Guatemala. --- Exhibition open to the public at the Training Center of the Spanish Cooperation (Centro de Formación de la Cooperación Española/ Antiguo Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús in 7th avenue North between 3rd and 4th West streets) in Antigua Guatemala, until March 1, 2020. Visiting schedule is Monday to Sunday from de 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Free entrance.

 

"The Great Jaguar Rises" —a remarkable exhibition highlighting Maya civilization past and present—makes its global debut at the Royal BC Museum (Victoria, Canada), the first venue in the world to host this exhibition from May 17 to Dec. 31, 2019. Following venues will be the Cincinnati Museum Center (from March 13–Sept 7, 2020) and the Royal Alberta Museum from Oct 3, 2020-April 18, 2021.

 
La Ruta Maya Foundation, with the support of the Hotel Museum Casa Santo Domingo and the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), presents the collection of Pre-Columbian works that were ambassadors of Guatemala in the largest exhibition on Mayan art in Europe, which under The title "Mayas: Rulers of the Rainforest" was presented in Holland, Germany and Spain. This exhibition will be open to the public in Santo Domingo del Cerro from August 30, 2018 until mid-April 2019, when they will once again represent the country in another traveling exhibition in North America.

It is not so easy to print a human face on any object, especially when it comes to sculpting  clay, not only to give shape to figurines but to countless examples of ceramic vessels that were given anthropomorphic traits ("human-shaped") adapting the round, oval or cylindrical shape of the vessel to give them enhancement and volume.
