The registered archeological pieces are made available to researchers and university students.

One of the first studies done on the collection was the clay testing of several pots by the Maya Survey Project of the Smithsonian Institution Laboratories. The process consists in taking a clay sample from a pot, which is later subject to neutron analysis with the help of a nuclear reactor. The research will determine the clay’s source and the pottery workshop where the piece was manufactured. Results will be ready at the end of 2010.
